Children and Adolescent Counselling
Anger, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, managing friendships and becoming overwhelmed in school are just some of the common issues that our children and young people are dealing with in their day-to-day lives. However, they do not always know how to find the words to describe what they are experiencing which is why our counsellors can offer talking therapy and more creative approaches.
Our counsellors might connect with your young person through talking, play or creativity so that counselling can help them to understand their emotions, develop skills, find solutions to their problems or make meaning of difficult things.

Sometimes young people need someone to listen without judgement to help them find understanding, clarity and direction.
In our work together, I hope that you find that you can work through issues or difficulties in a way that you find helpful in your time. I use talking therapy mostly but welcome opportunities for play and creativity.
I have extensive experience of working with people of all ages. My person-centred approach allows them to explore issues freely. People who work with me have told me that they feel heard, respected and valued as we work together to identify what is important for growth and healing.
I have a special interest in trauma-informed, neuro-affirming and sensory aware practice. This helps with recognising opportunities for emotional regulation and the development of natural coping strategies. .

Hello!
Children and teens can find it difficult to come to therapy. Meanwhile, I understand the worry that parents have about their child or young person.
I am particularly good at connecting with this age group, listening while they work through low mood, anger, stress or anxiety. I do this through talking, play, creativity, imagination, collaboration and expressive activities because I love to listen and create a therapeutic relationship that works.
Ultimately, I get to know what they enjoy, what brings them joy and integrate this into their therapy. Through our work, they come to realise that therapy can be fun too.

Hi.
Children and young people sometimes need someone to talk to about things that they don't want to or don't know how to talk about with the family members. I have around 15 years experience of being that person, previously in school and now in private practice and christian organisations
How do I do work? By building trust, by listening carefully, by being alongside your child / young person, supporting them whilst they unpack thoughts, talk about their feelings and work out how to carry on being a happier version of themselves.

Welcome — I’m really glad you’re here.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, uncertain, or confusing. Maybe your child or young person is trying to understand themselves better or navigating something complicated or confusing.
As a therapist, I provide the space for your children to express and process emotions through age-appropriate and creative ways of working. Using a range of therapeutic perspectives and techniques, your child will find their way of expressing what's going on for them. Through talking, expressive techniques and creativity , they can be heard without judgement or pressure. With me, they can explore the past, present and future and work out what this means for them, who they are and who they want to be.

Sessions held in-person in Bury, Lancashire
I have worked with hundreds of children and young people who may be struggling with their mental and or physical health or may be struggling with either past or current life events.
I enjoy being able to provide a welcoming space for children and young people to feel able to talk about their difficulties or challenges.
Some children and young people find it difficult to open up but find ways to do this more easily when they can find comfort and safety around animals, At these times, my therapy dog may be able to (on request) come into the therapy room.

I have many years’ experience supporting children and young people in secondary schools, community services, and CAMHS pathways, and I understand how complex life can feel when you’re growing up and trying to find your way. As a neurodivergent therapist, I work from a trauma- informed, neuro-affirming and creative approaches, valuing each young person’s unique way of being and seeing the world.
In our sessions, my aim is to offer a space that feels safe, creative, and accepting where your child or young person can talk about what’s happening in their life. I’m here to listen, to support in making sense of things, and to help them feel more confident, understood, and empowered as they navigate their path forward.

Neurodivergent-affirming, sensory-awareness, trauma-informed, play and creative interventions.
Big emotions, complicated feelings, sensory overwhelm, friendships, family pressures, school demands and changes. My approach is to listen with curiosity and care, and then think practicality and pragmatically.
Your young person doesn’t need the “right” words or a clear starting point. Together we will explore what’s been happening, what it feels like inside, and focus on what might help life feel a little easier by using talking therapies, sand play and sensory awareness and a therapeutic coaching approach.

When working with children and young people, I focus on creating welcoming spaces where they can feel accepted, understood and able to express themselves in ways that feel right for them.
Much of my work in supporting children and young people through talking and play around dealing with difficult emotions brought on by significant life events such as bereavements and transitions.
As a parent to three teenagers, I have an understanding of just how many things this can encompass! Therefore, I work collaboratively with families where appropriate, becoming part of a support network for your child.
