Trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, sensory-aware

Sometimes we need someone to listen without judgement to help us find clarity and direction.

In our work together, I hope that you find that you can work through issues or difficulties in a way that you find helpful in your time. I use talking therapy mostly but welcome opportunities for play and creativity.

I have extensive experience of working with people of all ages. My person-centred approach allows them to explore issues freely. People who work with me have told me that they feel heard, respected and valued as we work together to identify what is important for growth and healing.

I have a special interest in neuro-affirming and sensorily aware practice. This helps with recognising opportunities for emotional regulation and the development of natural coping strategies.

An unexpected tragedy or a long-term recurring painful event might lead us to feel stuck, confused and lonely. Negative thoughts and emotions can take over. When we haven’t got anyone to talk to it can be difficult to find that inner peace.

I strongly believe that we all have a fountain of inner strength and wisdom which can guide us. Using talking therapies, art therapy techniques, play, solution-focused skills and CBT techniques, we will work towards better.

Accessing counselling can feel daunting and hard. We often put off making contact because we worry about where to begin telling our story, what might come up in the work, and whether we feel ready to deal with our struggles. Will I like the counsellor? Will I feel able to trust them? Will I be judged? All of these are normal thoughts and worries.

My encouragement to you is that counselling can be a useful way to work through difficulties and struggles and that being heard and understood can bring the healing you are looking for.

Accredited Sight loss counsellor with the Royal National Institute of Blind People.

Hi.

Sometimes life can become overwhelming that causes a lot of racing thoughts and questions that are difficult to make sense of.

I don’t believe that all therapy needs to take a long time to be helpful or effective. Incorporating a future focused approach with a view that you are the best expert in your own life.

In our therapy sessions:

  • we work out what is happening and how this is different to how you want life to be
  • we delve, with care, into how you are feeling, making sense as we go
  • we look at finding the strengths and resources that you can draw on as you move forward towards positive change

Gill Noble-Grey

Things I can support with:

  • Reconnecting with your sense of self after experiences of emotional hurt or difficult relationships.
  • Exploring challenges in relationships — whether with partners, family members, or children — and finding healthier ways to relate.
